Writting a conclusion

TASK 2.   Write a conclusion for the following speech.   How to Communicate Effectively Establishing and developing effective communication is important in order to be heard and change your environment according to your own thoughts. No one will guess what you want or what you think if you don’t tell them, and nothing is going to change if you do not propose a change. The purpose of my speech is to discuss three important skills that will help you communicate effectively. Such skills are not to be afraid of speaking, express exactly what you mean to say, and listen while you are not speaking.  The first aspect to communicate effectively is not to be afraid of speaking. Anytime you need to say something, go ahead and do it. Most of the times people are afraid of speaking because they are not sure if it is the right thing to say or the right moment to say it. Be sure, say what you want to say, and do not regret it. If you speak you will be heard and taken into...

The body

Today i'm going to do the task wich is connected with the speech, videlicet, the body. So, as well as the introduction, the body part has the basic formula of three too. Introduction — Establish topic and core message; list supporting points. Body:       Supporting Point One;       Supporting Point Two;       Supporting Point Three. Conclusion — Recap main points; summarize core message; call-to-action. TASK 1.  Let’s try and extract the outline from one of the following performance. Choose one speech and make its outline. Make sure you provide a detailed structure of the body of the speech. You can use the sample outline in paragraph 4.2 as an example. I've chosen speech №3 - “3 rules to spark learning” by Ramsey Musallam at TED Talks Education https://www.ted.com/talks/ramsey_musallam_3_rules_to_spark_learning The outline: In general this speaker presented to everyone different ways of teaching. The introd...

The introduction

Chapter 4.1 The Introduction Can “Make or Break” You as a Speaker. Firts of all, I think, that everybody will agree with me, that introduction is the trickiest part of the speech. Because you should denote your topic, main problem and etc. So, there are five most common attention-getters for introduction are mentioned, which are: Asking questions Making references  Making a startling statement Giving a quotation Telling a story Task for today is: "Watch 5 public speech performances and identify the technique(s) used in the introduction in each performance." “How will we survive when the population hits 10 billion?” by Charles C. Mann at TED2018 https://www.ted.com/talks/charles_c_mann_how_will_we_survive_when_the_population_hits_10_billion In this speech author starts his theme by using question and opens the topic by answer on his own question. I think i'd give to this topic 2, because i think, that it was a little bit long, In general this speech i...

CLARIFYING YOUR PURPOSE

Before this task I  didn't know how to start writing speeches. There are some questions to help in this.  Why should I want to talk about this? Why should anybody want to listen to me? What single message would I want to put across? What need in the audience do I want to have satisfied when I have finished speaking? When they all walk away what state would I like them to live in? Now I should try this on my own. Speech 1.  You are a primary school teacher. You should give a speech to your third graders on the following topic: “ Why children should listen to their parents .” Firstly, because our parents are the first teachers for us. Secondly, as a future teacher I'm interested  in it. This speech can be relevant for children, because of missunderstanding with parents. And relationships are an important part. Paren't are the closest people in your life. I want to put the message, that parents will help them in hard moments, and they will love y...

Challenges as the best way to overcome fears

Challenges is the best way to overcome your fear . So, that's my personal list of 10 challenges: Try to talk with dad about his car, and opportunity to use it without him Don't skip classes after a night job Stop smoking at least for a day Speak only english at least 5 hours at work Pretend to be foreigner on the street Deal a randoom telephone number and ask something Tell the truth to my dad about "illegal" driving   Play a game "PHOTO" on the sreet. (The main point is to do absurd photoes with passers-by) Try to find a pen-friend from any contry and talk with him/her about something Start to write a blog regularly

Rules

My groupmates have created some rules of good behaving: 1. Try to use proper punctuation, spelling and grammar to make your text understandable for readers. 2. Be active, leave comments under your groupmates' posts, say what you like/dislike.  3. No cursing and expressing offensive opinions.  4. Respect people’s privacy (do not share media files/articles of other person without his/her permission).  5. Try to choose design comfortable for reading. It does not denote that it should be plain, just remember basic rules. For example, that it is easier to perceive three colors than five or more. 6. Try not to use many official language or complicated terms in your blog. It can make your blog incomprehensible for some people. 7. Write clearly, concisely, and on the subject.  8. Help others if you can.
